Meet Kim! I met Kim on my first day of college. My first impression of her was “Wow, this chick is LOUD.” She won me over with a comment that I know she didn’t intend to be hilarious- but I couldn’t stop laughing. It would take too long to explain – and I don’t think its appropriate material for this site either. But anyways- Kim is fantastic. Her stories absolutely blow my mind and she is one of the funniest people I know.
Kim is also a trainer and business owner. She also is the creator of GymAdvisor.ca (a website much like TripAdvisor- but for gyms). What a brilliant idea right? So – Kim and I are both a lot alike- in the way that we have struggled with our relationship with food. One day I came across an album Kim had posted titled “My Journey” – and I was in shock. I hadn’t seen her in a few months- and Kim had posted all these pictures of her recent weight loss. It was incredible! I think to date- she has lost around 35lbs. Right now she is on cross Canada tour visiting and reviewing gyms.
I don’t want to speak on behalf of Kim- but I can only assume that Kim’s weight loss has been changing her relationship with food. Some of you won’t ever have this problem and may never understand – but to some of us- Food is more than fuel. It’s our way of dealing with emotions whether it be happy, sad, etc. I think another one of the hardest parts of weight loss is consistency. I know one of my problems is I can have 2 really great meals in one day- then I completely blow it in the evening and totally fall off the wagon. I saw this picture and I feel it is very fitting.
Anways – Kim I am very proud of you!
You are doing great and keep up the good work!
